Who we are and what we are.

Dear Friend,

You have cast your eyes on the website of Polish AA (Alcoholics Annonymous) Intergroup – Midlands. We are basically a coordinating committee for 23 Polish-speaking AA groups that are based in our region. Apart from the Midlands, there are many more Polish AA groups in the UK (about 90) and they are part of various AA structures both Polish and British alike.

If you are looking for help and advice for a Polish speaker who may have a problem with drinking, this is definitely a place to find some information. You can recommend this site to that person with full confidence as we are a part of a larger, well-established AA Fellowship. Our groups are registered with both the General Service Office in Poland and the British GSO in York.

The quickest and most efficient way for the Polish person is to contact our help-line on 0121 286 7606. The line is operated every day between 6 pm and 9 pm in Polish, and outside these hours a voice message can be recorded which will allow us to respond.

If you require more information we can answer additional questions at publicinfo@intergrupamidlands.co.uk Please don’t use our helpline number, as it is only operated by Polish-speaking volunteers, and not all of them may be able to help. Of course, the Polish person, you care about is very welcome to use all the contact facilities we operate for them.

If you are part of an organization that deals with a number of problematic Polish drinkers, we encourage you to contact us regardless of the actual situation. We can provide reasonable supplies of materials that you can use in your work. Most of the materials are free of charge and we are looking for the opportunity to distribute them in the Polish community.
